About The Griswold Home
Inspired by National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation,
The Griswold Home website is here to educate and entertain. Just like Clark Griswold in the movie, I am one of those
guys who goes over the top every year with outdoor Christmas lighting. And every year it gets worse. I am to the
point now where if I purchase any more yard creatures I will have to rent a storage unit to house all of them.
 Each
year I get started early November, laying out miles of extension cords and planning what is going to go where
in hopes to make the best use of the power outlets around my home. This year (2004) I got smart and had an electrician
add two new 20A outlets to satisfy the power my light show now requires. While searching online for more information
about "extreme lighting" I found nothing but commercial sites peddling their holiday products. One night I decided
to build this site in hopes that "if you build it they will come." So, thank you for coming -- I hope you find the
site useful.
My goal is to provide a place for enthusiasts of holiday lighting to share ideas, information, tips & tricks,
and share photos of their achievements. If you are just here to look around, that's awesome, but please feel free
to post to the forums or share photos of your own
